We aim to make both our website and our editions usable by more readers while preserving the richness of the original work.
Website accessibility
We are working toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA as a practical standard for this website. Current features include semantic page structure, keyboard-accessible navigation, visible focus indicators, skip links, text alternatives for meaningful images, responsive layouts, readable contrast, and reduced-motion support.
Optional analytics remains off until a visitor chooses to allow it. Core content, book information, retailer links, and contact information do not depend on analytics.
Accessibility inside our editions
Features vary by book and format, but may include linked ebook navigation, accessible headings, image descriptions, contextual footnotes, readable typography, spoiler-safe introductions, maps, timelines, character guides, and explanations of historical language.
We test Kindle and print files separately because navigation, page references, images, and reading order behave differently in each format.
Known limits and honest claims
Accessibility is ongoing work, not a one-time certificate. Some historical images contain small labels or dense visual information that may remain difficult at certain magnifications. Retailer pages and the embedded Substack form are operated by other companies and may behave differently from this website.
We do not claim that every page, file, device, or third-party service is fully conformant. We do commit to investigating specific barriers and improving the materials we control.
